HERE I HAVE A ELECTRIC CAR 1981 COMUTACAR WHICH IS HWY LEGAL! This car has been upgraded with a curtis controller. It carries 8 X 6 volt golfcart batteries and one 12 volt accessory battery. This particular car was on the road about 5 years ago. It needs new batteries. I have brand new special size tires which i've installed . The car has not been driven for about 5 years. It is not currently running (since it needs batteries) but should run with the addition of new batteries. The brakes were working, but may need some work now. I can help you source parts. I have a pair of golf cart chargers that should work perfectly. They are 24 volt chargers and can be used one per bank of 4X6v batteries. Top speed is about 40 mph and range is probably 30 or 40 miles. You can find lots of info on the internet about these cars. The Commutacar was built by Seabring Vanguard in Florida. These are increasingly rare and hard to find in this condition. The car has only about 1800 original, that's all. Eighteen HUNDRED not thousand miles. It's barely ever been used.
